Inaugural World Clean Hydrogen Day Launches on 8 October — Featuring the “Quo Vadis Clean Hydrogen?” Worldwide Reveal and Placing Clean Hydrogen at the Core of the Global Transformation
On 8 October 2026, the CleanTech Business Club (CBC) and École Hassania des Travaux Publics (EHTP) will jointly organise the Inaugural World Clean Hydrogen Day (WCHD) at EHTP in Casablanca, Morocco, and online worldwide — launching a new annual global platform dedicated to accelerating the clean hydrogen transformation.
The date carries a special meaning: 8 October / 10.08 reflects hydrogen’s atomic weight of 1.008. Building on this symbolism, World Clean Hydrogen Day looks to the future — accelerating the global hydrogen transformation with clean hydrogen at its core.

Why Was Morocco Chosen for the Inaugural World Clean Hydrogen Day?
Morocco was selected for the inaugural edition because it represents the kind of future-oriented ecosystem CBC aims to support — combining strong renewable potential, industrial ambition, strategic geography, committed institutions and a growing local clean hydrogen ecosystem around EHTP and the Joint Center of Excellence in Clean Hydrogen inaugurated on 19 May 2026 in the presence of H.E. Mr. Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Developed by EHTP, Guofu Hydrogen, GFHA and in collaboration with CBC Morocco Ecosystem partners, the Center is designed as an applied platform for clean hydrogen and CleanTech education, research, technology validation, system integration and workforce development.
The Center features Morocco and North Africa’s first integrated clean hydrogen demonstration system, showcasing the full clean energy cycle — solar energy → PEM electrolyser → H₂ storage → fuel cell → clean electricity supplied to the EHTP grid — providing a tangible example of how global collaboration can translate into local deployment.
