The inaugural World Women Empowering The CleanTech Decade Summit celebrated the immense opportunities for women in the CleanTech industry, where they play a pivotal role in driving transformation through disruptive technologies and creativity.

The Summit was powered by the CleanTech Business Club’s Empowering Women Hub, where equality is fundamental, both empowering women and men as change-makers, leveraging diverse perspectives and talents to shape a sustainable future.

​

It was proceeded by two Women Empowering The CleanTech Decade Forums India held in 2019 and 2022 at REI Expo as well as two worldwide events held in 2020, CBC Empowering Women Hub Workshop in Abu Dhabi and  Empowering Women in CleanTech Session on the occasion of the 1st World CleanTech eConvention #TogetherWeAreStronger.

The Summit counted two strong supporting partners: the “Women Energize Women” communication initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), which is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) as well as the Indo-German Energy Forum of BMWK’s global project Bilateral Climate and Energy Partnerships.

During the summit, we heard inspiring stories from women in executive positions who have shattered barriers, encouraging others to lead in CleanTech. Additionally, we learnt from men driving companies forward by promoting gender equality within their organizations, highlighting the transformative power of inclusivity and collaboration.

To achieve exponential growth during the CleanTech decade, it is crucial to address skills capacity building, which represents  a significant opportunity for women entrepreneurs and those eager to take up executive positions, work in R&D and technology, as well as in marketing and communication.

As we celebrate the accomplishments of women in CleanTech, we must also recognize that collaboration on an international level is essential to drive this industry forward. Embracing global perspectives, sharing knowledge, and fostering partnerships is the key to unlocking the full potential of CleanTech solutions worldwide.

The apex of the event was centred around the #JointManifesto2023, a tribute to the indispensable collaboration between women and men, working hand in hand to drive the CleanTech Decade. This joint manifesto of women and men in CleanTech exemplifies the potency of gender-inclusive teamwork in igniting progress and resonates as a resolute call to action. Its purpose is to forge a global alliance that unites diverse talents, fostering cooperation to propel the world's transformation towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.

During COP28 held in Dubai, UAE, the Global Campaign will be launched to further promote the #JointManifesto2023 and start implementing the related action plan.
